About Sarah Evans of Alpine Medical Group
Sarah E. Evans, MS, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC, PMHS
Sarah Evans came to Alaska from Tucson, Arizona in 2015. The opportunities when looking for her future home were limitless, but she landed in Fairbanks and could not be happier with the community and the small-town feel. She loves the winter vibe Fairbanks brings, as well as how kind everyone in the community can be.
Sarah received her first Master of Science degree from the University of Arizona, along with her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Portuguese which led her to her love of culture and traveling. She obtained a second Master of Science, in Nursing, from Duke University and completed her DNP, or Doctor of Nursing Practice at Duke University shortly after. Her doctoral research focused on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders. Sarah’s post-graduate program accomplishments include a Certificate in Nursing Education (CNE), Pediatric Mental Health Specialty Certification (PMHS), and a fellowship in University of Alaska’s LEND (Leadership Education in Autism and other Neurodivergent Disabilities) program as well as acting as adjunct faculty for the same program in the subsequent year.
Sarah’s entire career revolves around offering the best care to our community’s little ones, while continuing research and education to improve children’s health outcomes in Alaska. She loves providing guidance in healthfulness within the family unit and feels that teaching children how to make positive decisions will also improve the lifestyles of the adults around them!
In her free time, she loves being outside. Some of her favorite activities include attending musical performances and concerts, traveling, skiing, bike riding and hiking and relaxing with her amazing husband and their three dogs.
